The aim of this project is to empower youth and entrepreneurs with financial literacy and business skills to allow them to sustain businesses and ultimately create more job opportunities in Uganda. This project is the result of a partnership between the United Nations Development Programme in Uganda (UNDP Uganda), BRAC Uganda and CEED with implementation support from the Ministry of Gender Labor and Social Development, private sector members and training institutions in Uganda. CEED specifically helped with the facilitation of this program throughout 3 districts in northern Uganda and training of 135 entrepreneurs with skills that allow them to better withstand regional financial pressures.
Objectives
To equip youth with management, marketing, financial literacy, and soft practical skills.
To provide entrepreneurs with skills, knowledge, and confidence to run their small businesses
To give them the opportunity to compete favorably in the labor market.
To reduce their vulnerability to economic pressures through better financial options
To train staff as TOTs (Training of Trainers) to be able to train the newly identified businesses.
