Frequently Asked Questions

Interested in contributing your skills and passions to our projects in Gulu, Montreal or beyond? You probably have a million questions! You can reach out to our internship coordinator at internships@ceedconcordia.org or message us on Instagram anytime with your specific questions. In the meantime, here are a couple questions we get asked time and time again:

Beyond internship or employment, we host events open to anyone and are often on the lookout for volunteers! Additionally, we also hold opportunities to join our Board of Directors. If you’re interested, please feel free to email us at info@ceedconcordia.org or message us via our social media for more information.

CEED is an organization that believes in youth empowerment and community engagement. As such, our projects and internships are usually geared towards young university students. However, we do have some projects that recruit a wider range of candidates, and we suggest that everyone check the qualification requirements in our internship posts. We encourage the participation of any Canadian student who qualifies for our programs. However, given that we are a fee-levy group which receives funding from Concordia students, we prioritize the participation of Concordia students if their qualifications match those of non-Concordia students who have applied. For more information on whether you meet the requirements of an upcoming project please feel free to inquire with us at internships@ceedconcordia.org.

The best way to keep up with our internships and employment offers is to follow our social media accounts which are updated frequently. We share recruitment information on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn  and our website. Follow us on these platforms to make sure you don’t miss anything! Generally, for fall semester internships, we recruit in the month of August and for winter semester internships we recruit in the month of January. For job listings, we hire throughout the year when our team is expanding and when vacancies occur.

Due to the on-going global pandemic, we have had to pause many in-person activities, including travel to Uganda. As of now, international internships are done virtually for interns based in Canada until we can resume travel. We will continue to work in Uganda in addition to partnerships with external organizations through virtual, international, and local internships.

Yes, we currently have projects in Colombia, Senegal, and Canada. We are always looking to expand our reach and we will keep followers informed of any new project destinations and partners.

CEED is a fee-levy group, meaning we are primarily funded through fees paid by undergraduate Concordia University students which are collected by the university along with tuition. Fee-levy groups use these funds to provide services, resources, and events to students. At CEED, this funding also helps cover the cost of internships and employment opportunities. We are also partially funded by various grants thanks to our status as a non-profit organization.
