Join us for CEED Concordia’s Annual General Meeting 2020!

June 4th 6:00PM EST online

It’s that time of year again! Where all CEED’s stakeholders get together to participate in the most important meeting of the year, CEED Concordia’s Annual General Meeting!

The AGM is an opportunity to get involved, learn about CEED’s activities in Canada and Uganda, vote on changes to CEED’s constitution and elect new Board of Directors’ members who will provide direction and governance over CEED’s initiatives. It’s your greatest opportunity to provide feedback and shape CEED’s future!

Here’s what you need to know:

  • The AGM is on Thursday, June 4th at 6:00PM-8PM EST
  • The event will be hosted online on ZOOM, you can access the event online from your desktop (by url) or mobile device (app available in the App Store) by following the link that will be posted here shortly
  • The event is open to Concordia students, faculty, alumni and the community at large
  • All are welcome but you must be a current Concordia undergraduate student or have volunteered with CEED in the past to vote on motions
  • Videos of the candidates running for the 2020-2021 board positions will be public on our website 10 days prior to the meeting and they will present their candidacy at the AGM
  • The AGM agenda will released shortly

Here are the major decisions (otherwise known as amendments) you’ll be voting on this AGM:

  • There will be a minor change to the fee-levy question designed to improve the accuracy of the statement. The former question was:

” Do you agree to a fee levy of $0.35 cents per credit to be charged to all undergraduate students and allocated to the Concordia University Volunteer Abroad Program, a non-profit student run organization aimed at expanding Concordia’s campus in Uganda, Africa, allowing students from all four faculties to participate in volunteer activities at these new campuses… ”

The new question will be:

” Do you agree to a fee levy of $0.35 cents per credit to be charged to all undergraduate students and allocated to the CEED, a non-profit student run organization aimed at expanding Concordia’s footprint in developing countries, allowing students from all four faculties to participate in experiential learning activities at these new campuses… ”

  • The honorarium for position of Chair and Secretary (non-voting board members) will be increased from $300 to $1000 and $500 respectively, in order to attract and retain qualified members
  • The term of office for board members shall be extended from 1 to 2 years and renewable each year after, to facilitate knowledge exchange.
